Madeleine and Derek’s love story radiates warmth and affection. The couple’s journey began during their time spent at The University of California, Merced.
Both Madeleine and Derek were involved in Greek life, and found themselves continually running into one another during study sessions, and lively themed parties. Despite the constant run-ins, their love story really began when Derek had an extra ticket to the Jack Ü show in San Francisco and invited Madeleine to join him.
Since then, they’ve shared many unforgettable experiences from music festivals to making new friends and celebrating significant milestones together.
Fast forward to planning their wedding: The couple hired 828 Planning, BRICK’s in-house team, and embraced the guidance of Lindsay, their dedicated event planner. Being able to lean on Lindsay’s expertise while having the freedom to personalize every aspect of their day was exactly what Madeleine and Derek wanted.
Their long-awaited ceremony took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September on the picturesque waterfront at the Courtyard by Marriott.
Madeleine’s timeless gown was complemented by a flower-embellished floor-length veil. Derek’s classic black suit was complemented by a classic white silk bow tie. The bridesmaids wore a variety of champagne-colored gowns, while the groomsmen matched Derek in classic black suits with black bow ties.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at BRICK. Cocktail hour was held outside while the newlyweds captured photos underneath the setting sun.
Inside, attentively crafted arrangements by MR Floral featured soft baby’s breath and a beautifully trimmed greenery installation. The florals adorned the mood-lit market lights and classic brick walls, which beautifully accented the candlelit farm tables provided by Cedar & Pine.
A combination of both gentle and modern black-and-white hues cultivated a soft and elegant environment, offering a sense of simplicity and familiarity to their guests. From their menu cards and linens all the way to the guests’ chairs, no detail was left out of the color scheme.
A black and white checkerboard dance floor from Bright Event Rentals further contributed to the timeless atmosphere.
A luxurious loveseat lounge provided by Cedar & Pine featured an elegant pop of dark blue, adding subtle dimension and offering a comfortable spot for guests to relax.
Coast Catering treated guests to a lavish meal that did not disappoint. Gourmet dishes were followed by a French Croquembouche tower and hand-crafted by Desserts by Clement.
Later on, Churro Addict, a delicious local food truck, pulled up to BRICK just in time to satisfy guests’ late-night cravings.
To top off the celebration, the couple booked a glamorous photo booth experience through Mir Mir, offering an interactive, Instagram-worthy photo shoot for guests, while others enjoyed EDM music provided by Supreme DJ Entertainment.
Madeleine and Derek’s incredible day , and their effortlessly timeless love echoes in our minds and hearts to this day.
