stay connected
Erin and Nick’s sunny August wedding was filled with warmth, laughter, and bright, heartfelt energy. With a spring sunset-inspired color palette, their celebration perfectly reflected who they are as a couple: sweet, structured, and supportive. Both Erin and Nick are real-life heroes, serving our country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.
Erin and Nick booked 828 Planning’s Month-Of Planning Package, giving them detailed guidance and support throughout the process. Because Erin was deployed for much of the planning, our team helped her family manage everything from vendor selection to final timeline coordination.

A Love Story Rooted in Service and Connection
Erin and Nick’s story began years earlier while studying in Maryland. Since meeting, they’ve supported each other through every challenge, including planning a wedding oceans apart.
Their friends and family stepped up with love and dedication, ensuring every decision honored the couple’s vision. Once reunited, Erin and Nick added thoughtful, personal touches that brought even more heart and authenticity to their celebration. Details such as hand-painted signage and monogrammed accents brought notable elements of their love story to BRICK.

A Meaningful Coronado Ceremony Filled With Tradition
The day began with a timeless ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coronado. The location was especially meaningful since Coronado is home to the U.S. Navy base. Nick wore his pristine white uniform, which was a striking contrast to Erin’s soft, elegant bridal look. Their ceremony included an Irish Ring Warming, inviting each guest to hold the couple’s rings and offer a silent wish for their marriage. As they exited the church, the couple paid homage to their military service with a traditional sword arch ceremony, creating a breathtaking, symbolic moment.
Décor That Set the Scene
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to BRICK, another meaningful location with Liberty Station’s history as the former Naval Training Center. Here, their celebration truly came to life. Inspired by a San Diego sunset, their design blended classic military tradition with playful, handmade details. Bright pinks, soft yellows, and hints of orange popped beautifully against crisp white rentals and the venue’s warm brick backdrop.

As guests entered the space, they were greeted with a welcome table featuring two interactive art activities: Custom playing cards for guests to sign, and a collaborative art canvas instead of a traditional guest book, creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake full of color and memories. Personalized matchboxes were also set at the welcome table as thoughtful take-home favors.

The couple took full advantage of BRICK’s in-house décor collection, including:
Disco Balls, which brought the dance floor to life as mirror balls reflected memories being made.
Elegant pipe and drape, used to create a clean, polished layout and hide behind-the-scenes spaces.
A gold-rimmed glass card box, a simple yet special touch that tied everything together beautifully.

Every corner of the reception told a story. Erin’s creativity shone in her quilted welcome sign and hand-painted “Just Married” banner displayed above the dessert table filled with cookies, confections, and a custom sweetheart cake inscribed with “E + N.”

Each sweet detail tied back to their vibrant color palette and playful spirit, creating a day that was both beautiful and deeply personal.
“As the evening unfolded, guests were enjoying dinner when I invited the couple outside for sunset photos. Standing on BRICK’s lawn during golden hour, Erin and Nick absolutely glowed. The love between them was so evident — it was one of those rare, quiet moments that felt suspended in time. I left them there to soak it all in, grateful to witness their joy,” -Cassidy, 828 Planner

Guests couldn’t stop talking about the interactive art guestbook and personalized touches throughout the night. When “Dancing Queen” came on, Erin’s cousins handed out feather boas, and the dance floor erupted in color and energy.
