Q: What inspired you to become a wedding planner?
A: I’ve always had a passion for creativity, organization, and helping people celebrate life’s most important moments. Weddings are such a joyful occasion, and the ability to bring someone’s vision to life while managing all the details in the background is incredibly rewarding. I love the challenge of making everything come together seamlessly, from the tiniest decor touches to the big, unforgettable moments.
Q: Can you walk us through a typical day as a wedding planner?
A: Every day and every client’s needs are different, but generally, I start by reviewing my schedule and any emails or tasks that need immediate attention. On a wedding day, I’m usually on-site first thing in the morning to oversee vendor arrivals and ensure that everything is set up correctly. Throughout the day, I coordinate with the catering team and staff, ensure the timeline is followed, and address any last-minute requests or troubleshooting. I’m there for the couple from start to finish, helping them enjoy their day while I manage everything behind the scenes.
Q: What makes San Diego such a great city for weddings?
A: San Diego offers such a diverse range of venues, from beautiful beachside locations to elegant downtown spaces and rustic vineyards. The weather is generally perfect year-round, which is a huge plus for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Plus, the vibrant local culture and stunning views make it a truly magical backdrop and dream destination for any wedding.
Q: What is your favorite wedding you’ve ever planned at BRICK?
A: BRICK is an open canvas offering the potential to bring in any design, blending industrial elegance with modern style. My favorite wedding thus far was one where the couple chose a timelines chic theme, incorporating vintage lanterns, candlelit displays, and lush greenery. It was such a special day with a great team, and the atmosphere was so romantic and cozy. The couple was thrilled with how everything came together, and that’s always the best part!
Q: What element of an event gets you most excited? (Catering, design, etc).
A: It’s hard to pick just one because each element plays such a crucial role! But I’d say the design and decor really get me excited. It’s amazing to see a couple’s vision come to life through color schemes, floral arrangements, and personalized touches. I always encourage couples to really put focus into the design because it brings out so much more excitement and creativity leading up to their day. The transformation of a space from empty to breathtaking is always a magical moment!
Q: Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding in 2025/2026?
A: No wedding is too big or too small, stay true to your vision, but also be open to flexibility and trusting your vendors. Trends will evolve, but what matters most is making your wedding day a reflection of you as a couple. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, whether it’s from a planner or trusted friends and family. And don’t forget to enjoy the process—planning your wedding should be fun, not just a checklist of tasks!
